Dual Language Should Be Abolished

SHAH ALAM, 5 March 2016 - Committee of education, human resource development, science, technology and innovation had organized a seminar at Pro Canselor Hall, UNISEL, Campus Shah Alam with the title of the seminar is dual language issue become a threat to national policy. The speaker for this seminar are Dato’ Dr Siddiq bin Hj. Fadzil and Professor Emeritus Shaharir Mohamad Zain, chairman of Gerakan Mansuh PPSMI  GMP.

Dato Dr Siddiq mentioned that language plays a special role in the struggle to build and develop the nation. Language must be upheld, proud, and used with confidence in all areas of national life. Language not only be rich, but also must correctly and beautifully. In other words, the English people said “I think”, while the Malay people prefer to call it as “I guess”. These differences may reflect the Malay offset his mind with feelings. Indonesia does have a culture of thinking, but they are not the rationalists who lose their sense.

Besides that, Professor Emeritus Dr. Shaharir Mohamad Zain said that although english is important in the international corporate world but the developed countries such as Japan , Korea , and Germany did not teach students in English language. Before the policy was implemented dual language, competent authorities such as education experts should be consulted so that it is not a question of basic purpose of implementation of the people who ultimately opposed by people who are competent in the field of education.

There's is no right and wrong in using dual language, but the person need to have the responsibility in self to use the own language for the sake of strengthening the pride of the nation.
